S corporation owner payroll
S corporation owners must pay themselves a reasonable salary through payroll. We set it up correctly and help you choose a figure you can defend.
Change for 2026 payments
Starting with payments made in 2026, businesses generally file Form 1099-NEC or 1099-MISC only when payments to a person reach $2,000 for the year, up from $600. Those forms are due February 1, 2027.
Common questions
When are payroll returns due?
Form 941 is due the last day of the month after each quarter: April 30, July 31, October 31, and January 31. When that date falls on a weekend, the deadline moves to the next business day.
Can you take over payroll mid-year?
Yes. We transfer year-to-date figures so W-2s are correct at year end.
Do you handle contractors?
Yes. We collect W-9s, track payments, and prepare 1099s.
